Keloid Healing

A keloidal scar is an abnormal response in the healing process, where scar tissue forms excessively and extends beyond the boundaries of the original injury. These scars are larger, higher, and sometimes darker than the original injury. They can be noticeably different in appearance and texture, compared to a normal scar.

Benefits of PBM

• Reduces excessive inflammation commonly found in keloid scars.
• Modulates cellular proliferation, regulating the excessive cell growth characteristic of keloids.
• Regulates the overproduction of collagen that occurs in keloids.
• Improves tissue elasticity by influencing the extracellular matrix and collagen formation, especially crucial for keloids, which are often rigid.
• Enhances local blood circulation, promoting the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to cells in the scar area and thus fostering a healthier healing process.
• Alleviates pain sensation through an analgesic effect, reducing the pain associated with keloid scars.
